Platform requirements:
Low, stable platform
The “short” side of the platform need to be at least as wide as the distance between the dog’s back feet
No higher than the dog’s hock (i.e., ankle) height
Use a lower height platform in the beginning
Exercise:
Have dog wrap the handler’s leg, while stepping on/off platform
What to do:
Handler stand straddling the platform, with one foot on each side of the platform
Set dog up in front of the platform
Lure/cue dog to weave between handler’s legs
Mark + treat
Progression options:
Increase the number of leg weaves before reward
Increase the number of repetitions
